The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent HTML/Javascript and CSS skills
- Experience of creating web applications user interfaces
- An understanding of agile development practices and the concepts of usability
- Insurance Industry experience will be highly valued, but is not essential.
- Knowledge of common open source frameworks, API's and associated tools such as the following -, JQuery/CSS/XHTML/AJAX, SVN/CVS, Apache Commons, Tomcat 6
- Although not the main focus of the role, additional skills in Java development and the following tools would be a major advantage; Eclipse, Spring / Spring MVC, Hibernate, Relational Database Design / SQL, Maven 2, Unit testing and Continuous integration,
- Transformation of visual designs into well structured HTML and Javascript
- Support the transformation of the user interface into a richly featured, working web application with excellent usability
- Providing web user interface expertise to project team
- Providing support for software solutions as appropriate.
