This recently formed Australasian Company based in Christchurch, New Zealand builds on the owner’s commitment to developing special interest tourism to Russia. Russia is a relatively unknown market, with huge opportunities outside of the traditional product offerings such as St Petersburg, Moscow, Trans Siberian Railway and Volga River Cruises.
Just Russia Travel is committed to marketing a wide range of non traditional travel/cruise opportunities which it is envisaged will have a huge appeal to the more adventurous traveller, interested in Russia’s natural and cultural history and getting off the beaten track in wider Russia.
The owner wishes to appoint a Manager to take day-to-day responsibility for the daily management of this start up company. The owner has other existing travel businesses and the applicant will work alongside and be supported by these teams.
The successful applicant will have a background and training in tourism especially Tourism Management and some experience in the industry; they will be bilingual in Russian/English both orally and in writing.
To be successful in this role it is envisaged you will have:
• Good understanding of Russian geography and history; ideally will have travelled throughout Russia.
• Successful business skills especially Marketing – both web based and traditional trade channels.
• Necessary skills at foraging successful partnerships and negotiating with Russian tour operators.
• Experience in managing/establishing a new company preferably in the travel industry.
• Demonstrated operations and planning experience in successfully managing an existing product.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Organised with excellent time management, highly organised and focused.
• Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
Conscientious and hard-working a positive can do, will do attitude is essential.
Some travel away from home, to Travel Shows, visiting agents and product research is likely.
