You are no doubt aware that some
residence applications are delayed due to
“third party checks”. These checks will now
be referred to as National Security Checks
(NSCs). NSCs are undertaken by a third
party and INZ has no control over the timing
and outcome of the checks.
As an initiative to improve processing
times INZ is changing when it collects the
information for the NSCs.
We have started to use a new form called
the Additional Information Form (INZ 1200).
Some of you will have noticed that we have
started sending this form at ITA stage
and when Family Residence and Temporary
applications are submitted.
It is important to note that the use of the INZ
1200 form is a temporary measure in place
until a new form is available. Currently a new
form is being created to replace the INZ 1200.
Some applicants applying under the Skilled
Migrant Category will be required to use
the Additional Information Form (INZ 1200)
instead of the Additional Details Form (INZ
1134).
Either form will be sent to the applicant
in the e-ITA depending on which form is
required. We will send you the correct form
to complete.
For applicants of other categories of
residence or temporary visas we will send
you the Additional Information Form (INZ
1200) to complete when the application is
submitted to us.
Information may be requested from all
applicants included in the application.
The Additional Information Form (INZ 1200) is
not a lodgement requirement but providing
this information at the start of the process
is likely to ensure a shorter processing
time for NSC-required applicants. See the
Additional Information Form (INZ 1200).
